Depression

Depression is more than just a little sadness, more like a dark cloud that never lifts. Our solution to this is to get a support group for a person and then carry out with them a  full life audit.

In most cases the first breakthrough is when the person starts to think and act positively, to do something towards helping themselves, or participating in other activities. This breaks the cycle and starts them thinking about other topics and gives them new interests in life.

We know they are on the mend when they start taking an interest in taking on new challenges and start to chuckle and smile far more. We expect next to see them undertaking things without being prompted by their supporters, and noticing other people who are noticing them.

Once they have again taken charge of their lives, and are happy, the time has come to put a full regular review and audit plan into place so that they stay happy from this point on.

So what can go wrong, the biggest risk is that they get addicted to being depressed so that someone will take an interest in them, but this is overcome by their supporters continuing to take an interest and being aware of the risk, so making sure that the rewards for being a happy fun person to be with are greater than the attention someone gets when depressed.
