Being confident

Confident people enjoy life most of the time, they know themselves, do not fear to the same degree rejection, or ill remarks by others,  and will attempt things without the need to be totally sure that it will succeed.

A confident person looks people in the eye, smiles at people they do not know well, and is generally more popular. They are more attractive to others, and considered to be more fun to be with. They will tend to lead rather than follow and have far more say on what any group should do.

They will also be happy on their own, not need others to tell them if they are doing something right, and be prepared to fail, and laugh about it. They can play the clown, or stand up for some principle, complain when necessary, but also comment positively more often.

Some people who are not confident within their own group, are able to play a role or where a mask away, where they can become a confident fun loving person, and get sufficient experience that they can then slowly introduce much of what they have learnt to their normal life. Ultimately they can gain the wisdom so that they can use the confidence they have, to be the center of attention when they wish, and at other times to choose an observation role.

Confidence can come to those who organize, put on events, parties, or set up pressure  or support groups. For others it can best start within a group of close friends who provide the level of support that allows errors to be made.
